What do you think the best form of birth control is?

I think I have PMDD so I really need bc to help regulate my hormones. I also have issues with hormonal acne and cramps. I also need a bc that is effective, for obvious reasons. I think the pill would be the best to tailor it for my hormones but I would rather have the patch or rod because I dont want to have to worry about taking the pill everyday. I also wanted to take the extended/ full cycle pill to skip/ not get my period but im not sure if that's an option with the patch or rod. Help please ❤😩

Personally the patch isn’t something I’d ever do. I’m a swimmer so hiding the patch would be hard and I don’t really like the idea of announcing to the world I take birth control. I’ve also never heard anything good enough to out weigh the negatives of the rod. But I didn’t like having to take a pill everyday- I’ve been on the ring for a few years now and I’d never go back! You leave it in for three weeks and then take it out for one week. And replace it with a new ring. Besides the two times a month I’ve got to worry about it, I never even think about it. I had a lot of trouble finding a pill that worked for me too and because the ring in places in the vagina/cervix the hormones stay more local (you can still have the anti-acne effects though) which reduced all my side effects. So I really recommend the ring over any of your options. But if I was picking out of those three it’d be the pill for sure.

See I’d go patch just because I have the nexplanon and I have so many issues. My periods are irregular, I’m constantly on it (except recently I’m finally going normal and it’s almost time to take it out in May) I’ve gotten cysts and it hurts like hell. This time last year I was in so much pain I went to the er 13 times. Until they figured out the issue. (I might exaggerate a bit I went more like 5 plus the dr visits and then I had surgery to remove them because I missed so much work) I have them again now but I know I have it and I’m just letting it do it’s thing being careful but i know it’ll go away on it’s own if after a month ima go back to the dr) I’m moody, depressed (without knowing it until I’m ready to break down like I did today in the shower) and I’m not myself. The patch seems to be something I would try. But I can’t pick it because I have no experience in what the effects are personally. I did loose weight on this form but I’m not necessarily worried about that. Lol I’d talk to your professional dr about what might be the best option for you, and the most common side effects and anything else you wanna know about it.
