UPDATE: Baby Measuring Small

So I just went to the doctor for my 34 week appointment and since my 12 week appointment they have told me that my baby was measuring small. They’ve always said that she was about 2 weeks behind but that they would stick with the initial due date from my 6 week ultrasound.

Well today I didn’t see my regular doctor I saw a nurse practitioner and she was concerned that my stomach was measuring @ 31 weeks instead of 33.4 weeks as it should. So she wanted to do an ultrasound. After the ultrasound she consulted with a MD and came back and told me that they want to send me to a specialist because of my baby’s size. I freaked out. Then she started talking about how if the baby wasn’t growing properly they would have to induce me. I’m so scared and I don’t understand why this is happening. I’ve gained 30 lbs yet my baby isn’t getting the weight or nutrients. Plus I’ve been measuring small and they didn’t seem concerned so what’s the difference now?

UPDATE: So I just left the specialist’s office and after doing a thorough ultrasound they diagnosed me with Interuterine Growth Restriction. However he said that my blood flow from placenta and umbilical cord was good. He could not explain why she isn’t the size she should be but he did do labs to check for infection.

On top of that the ultrasound showed that my baby has pulmonary stenosis. I am devastated. Went in concerned about her weight and left with a heart defeat. Lord help my sweet baby. I just want her to be okay. I have an appointment with a cardiologist next week and I’ll be having 2 appointments a week. One with the specialist and one with my regular OB to monitor the baby’s growth. I’m so sad, scared, and just confused. I wish it was me and not her.
