33 weeks positive fFn

So last week I was contracting and I went into the hospital and was only a centimeter dilated and wasn’t progressing so they sent me home. Last night I was having contractions that were more frequent and my doctor wanted me to go to L&D; just to check me out. No changes in my cervix, BUT, they took this test for fetal fibronectin which, if positive, there’s a “50:50 chance you could go into labor in the next week” and if negative, you won’t be going into preterm labor in the next two weeks. Pretty weird and not too helpful test but mine was positive so they gave me the steroid shot for the baby’s lungs. Anyone else know what I’m talking about or experienced this this early???? I feel like I’m on edge waiting for this baby to either come or not come. I’m so anxious and wanna keep him in longer!!!!!
