Is one while lie bad..?

So I recently broke a necklace my bf got me, but I don't want to say that I broke it because I feel bad 😣 and I was gonna say that I lost it and I know I should just saythe truth but I don't bcs im embarrassed tbh and id feel bad. So idk what to do 😧

tell him you broke it, or try and get it fixed without telling him. don't lie. I would be more upset if my bf lost a gift than broke it.

I would just get it fixed or fix it yourself. I learned how to fix all sorts of jewelry on my own, it’s pretty easy to learn.

Definitely tell the truth.  It’s just a white lie, but I personally think accidentally breaking is 1,000 times better than losing it, because if you lose it that means you didn’t care about it enough to keep track of it.  Lying is never a good idea.

Don’t lie about that! Necklaces break! In the last 6 months I’ve had two necklaces break- both are excellent quality, but they’d had a lot of use. I got them fixed and they’re good as new. Just tell him it broke- things happen. Even if you dropped it or stepped on it or whatever happened- things happen. Just tell him you’re having it fixed (which shows you like the necklace and want to keep wearing it). Lying generally only ends up hurting people and making them distrust you. And relationships and built on trust. Don’t ruin that over a necklace that could possibly be fixed.
