Is it acceptable to have a second baby shower?

I hear mixed reviews about this. 
I want to know what you ladies think.

Keep in mind all answers are personal opinions and not meant to offend anyone. 
In my personal opinion it's totally unacceptable and  I wouldn't attend a second baby shower. 
Even if it's a different gender anything received from the first shower can still be used and clothes can be accumulated cheap used. 
Even if babies were born years apart. I still think it's unacceptable.

The only possible etiquette issue here is around asking for baby gifts twice.
To side-step that, just have a no-gift party.   You can ask for something meaningful instead - like have everyone write handwritten notes for your two babies, to be given to them on their 18th birthdays.

We had one.  Originally I felt like it was tacky.  I’m from up north but we live in the south now and it’s just assumed you have a shower every baby!  We only asked for diapers and gift cards though  since we didn’t need anything

Full shower? No I think it’s a little tacky. Unless there’s some extenuating circumstances like big age gap or I recently went to one where the couple had lost almost everything in the Thomas Fire so their friends threw one.
However I gone to plenty of friend’s “Baby Sprinkles” where it’s not about receiving presents like a full shower and it’s more about just celebrating the new baby. I think those are a nice way to just celebrate

I️ say do whatever you want! You know better than anyone how your friends and family will feel about it. A few good suggestions I’ve heard if you don’t want to go all out are 1.) a diaper/wipe shower 2.) Stock the freezer shower (everyone brings a freezer meal with instructions written on it) 3.) No gifts. Just have a get together to celebrate the new baby with loved ones

everyone I know always had a baby shower for every baby- mainly for diapers and clothes. I was supposed to have a baby shower for my baby, but due to me being in and out of the hospital I didnt get one 😕
