We def live in a messed up world where moms get shamed for nursing their kids in public. As a Mom who has had to do this I can def say I try my hardest to cover up and be as modest as possible. It’s not always easy when you have a screaming child who’s fussing and moving around the feeding blanket constantly pulling it off. For those that say feed him at home or before you leave don’t you think most people think about this. When I first started nursing my son refused to eat unless he was ready. We would wake him to eat before leaving the house because he had such a hard time latching at first. No matter how much I tried to make him eat he wouldn’t. As soon as we got to our appts all of a sudden he would need to eat and it would cause a huge scene because he hated the nursing blanket and latching would be even harder because he was screaming. Also feeding in public restrooms is out of the question. I’ve tried that before its completely disgusting. As I’ve said I always do my best to cover up. Also if you’re going to have a problem with public nursing moms but not with practically naked half dressed women/men then you are a hypocrite. I see way more of women’s boobs and butt cheeks out in public then a nursing moms boob. In fact it’s constantly advertised. Women can walk into a store barely clad but if someone happens to catch a glimpse of a moms boob they freak out. Also if it makes you uncomfortable maybe you shouldn’t be staring in the first place. I for one refuse to be shamed over trying to feed my child regardless of where I public or private. But I will always do my best to make sure others can’t see anything. #rantover
