How was your first week post delivery with first baby?

How is the first week after delivery and how can I prepare if I have no help as a first time mom and no experience with babies? Thank you.

there is no preparation for it just make sure that your house is stocked with food and water for yourself easy healthy food. You're going to be extremely sore and extremely exhausted

I was always hungry and thirsty, so stock up on filling snacks. For the pain, I used a doughnut pillow for sitting. I used pads and bought disposable underwater to help with the bleeding.

Make meals ahead of time (enchiladas, lasagna, casseroles, etc) and put them in the freezer so you can easily toss them in the oven and I hear lots of people do weird freezer pad things so you can use them to help ease the pain “down there” maybe have those ready too so you don’t have to be in pain too long when it comes on. Netflix helps for background noise or when you’re feeding baby so you don’t go crazy.

I had an emergency c section with my first (after full labour and 2 hours of pushing) so recovery was awful, but half of that first week was spent in the hospital. I would suggest planning for the worst and hoping for the best and accepting as much help as possible.

My first was so much easier than I expected. I was up doing my normal things in just a few days. I was sore for a couple days but i sat on ice a lot and it helped so much.

I could barely get out of bed after a pretty fast unmedicated vaginal delivery. Lots of premade meals, some way to clean your bum after poos that isn’t toilet paper (I just showered every time), super thick pads for the bleeding.
