when to announce?

Im 25 years old pregnant with my first 6wk3d and im just wondering at what point do people announce to their family? I already did. It would be way to hard to hide and frankly I just needed emotional support. but after reading somethings on this app it seems everyone waits until 2nd trimester. Im just wanting to know if anyone else has told their family and how early? Am I crazy? also I had to inform my college directors because Im in school for radiology and they have to know asap to keep me away from radiation and get me a fetal radiation monitor. Thanks in advance.

We told my family at 4 weeks. No point in hiding it, if we did have a miscarriage, I would want support.

My first appointment is Thursday so after that I’ll tell my mom. My boyfriend wants to wait until I’m 12 weeks to tell his side of the family. I’ve already told my supervisor and some people I work with that I’m close to. I work in radiology doing ct and X-ray so I had to tell earlier than I wanted to. But the few I’ve told know that I’m not actually announcing it and they won’t say anything. Just do it when you feel is right. I’ve had a MMC before so that’s why I’m waiting to tell my mom until the first US.

I told my family right away but waited to announce it to friends and everyone else until 13 weeks. I figured if anything happened I’d need my family’s support and not a lot of nosey people’s comments.

For me whenever I get pregnant I’d probably wait maybe a week or two after finding out to tell parents and siblings. For extended family I would wait til 12 weeks. Just to make sure.

We told our families after my first appointment at 8 weeks. We wanted to make sure everything was ok. I told work at 13 weeks. Some coworkers knew and I wanted to tell my manager myself before she heard it from someone else. But I’d definitely let your school know ASAP due to what your studying.

I told family maybe a week after we got our positive and since Im military I had to tell my supervisors immediately since we do mandatory workouts and stuff. In my opinion if you don’t have a history of miscarriage i wouldn’t worry about announcing early especially if it’s to ensure your baby is safe.

I told my boyfriend, Mom, sister, and a few close friends right away and when i got my labs back i was around 6 weeks. Work I told at 12 weeks.  But I would definitely let school know ASAP.
