Generic vs. Brand Name

So question; I’ve been on the pill called Blisovi Fe 1/20 for over a year, but my pharmacy switched it to generic Microgestin Fe 1/20 because my insurance wouldn’t cover the brand. I’m at the end of the pill pack and my period started on Saturday (it usually starts on Sunday!) and it has been sooo much heavier and the cramps are so much worse than usual. Could this be from switching to generic?? I’m a pharmacy tech and I always get frustrated when patients bitch about not getting the brand name, but now I think I understand. Has anyone else experienced this? I would ask a pharmacist but I know every pharmacist at every Walgreens in a 10 mile radius lol
