spina bifida testing?

anyone else have to do this as a routine test for advanced maternal age? this is my 3rd and i don't remember having to do this with my other 2 but i was 27 and 30 at each, respectively. When i did my anatomy scan my dr said baby boy was doing great. a week later i get a call asking if i wanted to go in to do a blood test for spina bifida. i asked if anything was wrong and they said no that the dr just forgot to mention it as an option because of advanced maternal age. I'm 34 but will be 35 at delivery. Google aka the devil said that lack of folic acid in early pregnancy contributes to spina bifida. i just took regular multivitamins that didn't have the same amount of folic acid as prenatals until like month 2. so naturally I'm freaking out now. anyone else go through something similar?
