Placenta increta?

Question

Has anyone ever heard of this? I’m being monitored very closely since my anatomy scan. They found my placenta in the front and I have another ultrasound in 7 weeks to see if it’s moved and hasn’t attached to my uterus. They’re talking hysterectomy or tying my tubes after. Trying not to panic.

If you are a Kardashian fan, I think that is what Kim had.
It is good they are monitoring you and have a plan in place.  I believe the risk is that an attached placenta poses much higher risk for abnormal bleeding post birth and may require emergency surgery for removal.

I just read about this. This happens after a c section when an obstetrician closes a uterus in a single layer. Uterus is supposed to be sewed up in two layers - not one, but doctors have started to perform a single layer closure several years ago.
