To induce or not?

I went to my 39week apt yesterday and was informed that my DS is weighing in the 90th percentile at 8lbs and 10ounces. My OB gave me the option to induce this week.  I said no because I'm not due until Monday, 01/22/18. As much as I'm ready to have this baby, I prefer to give my body a chance to go into natural labor. But, then again,  if I wait too long he will only get bigger and my risk for a c-section will increase. I also hear that if you induce before your body is ready,  that could increase c-section risk. I'm confused on what is best. My OB said she doesn't have any medical reasoning to force induction right now,  so it's all up to me. Also,  I'm not even a centimeter dilated yet. Please help! Any suggestions? Thank you.

my baby was estimated to be 6 pounds 11oz at 34 weeks. They estimated she would be 10 pounds 4oz at 39 weeks. I haven't really been progressing or contracting at 39 weeks so my doctor asked how i felt about induction ( my daughter also has a 2 vessel cord so they didn't want me going past 41 weeks) . I told her i wanted to at least give it until my due date. My due date was Friday the 12th nothing changed, came in today to start induction still 1 and a half cm and 70% thinned ( i was the same last week). So I've got pitocin and a balloon in me ( i don't know the name sorry). Will hopefully meet baby girl by the end of today :)

They told my sister that if she went to her due date with my niece my niece would weight over 9 pounds... she went 5 days past her due date and my niece was 6lbs 14oz. They can’t give you an exact weight. But also, i unlink induction is going to be different for everyone. Just like some people will progress quickly by themselves and have minimal labor pains, and some women won’t even be able to handle the pain from a few Braxton Hicks. I don’t think our doctors would recommend something that would purposely harm ya or our babies! Induction is popular among A LOT of women, so it csnt be as horrible as some people make it seem.

I'm due 1/29 and in the same situation. They are estimating my baby to be a but bigger.. They said approx 8lb 6oz at 37+3. of course that is all estimate. We decided to get induced and are scheduled for the 23rd, 6 days early. I am already 5cm and 80% effaced though, so I definitely wouldn't mind going into labor on my own earlier. I just don't want to wait full term because they say baby will probably be over 10 lb by then and could very likely end with c section. Being so dilated/effaced already, they think the induction will be fairly easy.. I can only hope!!
