Anyone out there lacking support from maternal grandparents? My mom can be super selfish and has isolated herself and my dad from everyone. My daughter, who is an only child, doesn’t see them often because (insert stupid excuse). It gets to her.

What’s even worse is that at 41 weeks I had a stillbirth. They were there for half a second, then things went right back to normal. I was left to deal with the aftermath with just my husband. He helped a lot but was going through his own recovery process. I recently asked my parents to come with us to Disneyland for my daughters birthday. My dad was all for it. My mom texts me about a week later saying that they are going whale watching around that time frame and wouldn’t be able to come with us. I give up with them.

It drives me nuts, but more than anything it hurts to see all of these grandchildren with their grandparents. We live far away from friends (we’ve been pretty transient in our adult lives) and other family to boot. My brother is twelve years younger and subsequently has his own, teen, life. Just wondering if anyone can relate?
