Progesterone shots?

Anyone have a premature baby and then be prescribed progesterone shots in the next pregnancy? Any side effects? I had my daughter at 35 weeks and with this pregnancy the doctors want me to start shots. I’m not finding a lot of information on it.

I did them with my last pregnancy. I had my second at 34 weeks, and on the shots I made it to 39 weeks with my third. I’m now 24 weeks with my 4th and have been on the shots since 17 weeks. No side effects for me.

I also take them. Took them with my second pregnancy and currently taking them with my third! I had my first daughter at 34 and 4 days and then I had my second daughter at 36 and 6. They held me out a couple more weeks but still considered my second premature. No side effects for me other then bruising on ejection sight.

I’m on them, Makena is what I take. I was supposed to start at 16 weeks but I didn’t get my meds until 19 weeks so I started then. My husband does my shots at home for me. At first I got some headaches from them, but once I got used to them they stopped and now other than being a little sore afterwards I have no side effects from them. I’m 22+1 today and will continue them until I’m 35 weeks. I had my youngest at 36 weeks so they wanted me on them to try to help prevent another pre term birth, I also go in every two weeks to have my cervix measured via transvaginal ultrasound.

I haven’t had the shots but I’m currently using the progesterone vaginal suppositories because we’ve had multiple m/c. So far I haven’t noticed any symptoms out of the ordinary. Not sure if the shots will be different though. Good luck!!
