This is my second go around. I really stressed myself out about pumping last time. this time I plan to pump when I feel like it and be more relaxed about the whole thing.

I was told when I went to my breastfeeding class to not pump until after the first month , to keep em strictly on the boob for the first month .

I'm going to pump mostly cause his daddy, and 3 siblings really want the opportunity to feed him too. I'm going to start almost immediately

I will pumping once and a while.  This is my second and my husband as asked if I would try to see if this one will take the bottle so she could feed the baby too.  Plus my 4 year said she would like to try to feed her little brother.  So I will pump some and store in the fridge for some feeding if he takes to the bottle.  If he doesn't I'm not going to force it, it's too stressful for mom and baby when it's forced.

I nursed for 13 months with my first. Probably would’ve gone longer if I hadn’t gotten pregnant with this nugget too lol my son never took a bottle. Then at 9 months old he drank from a straw and cup so I would give him my milk in there whenever I needed to go out without him. To build my stash I would pump from 1 breast and feed from the other. I’d pump first thing in the morning since that’s when you’re engorged. I began pumping at around a month after he was born. My sister who just gave birth 2 months ago has been using Milkies which you insert into your nursing bra and it collects any milk you leak between feedings or when you have a letdown and are feeding from the other breast. She’s collected up to 3-4oz per day! She’s been freezing that to store for later. I’ll be doing that this time too.

this is my second and I'll be pumping when needed after feedings. I overproduced with my son so typically I would feed him and then pump the rest off. I had a lot of milk frozen back doing it that way

I am going to try to pump so that I have a bottle for the following day, starting at around 2 weeks. With my first, I really liked having the convenience of having a bottle for dad to do nighttime feedings as well as for public outings. My pumping sessions only took about 5-10 minutes to get 5-6 oz (enough for two bottles), so that was awesome. I would squeeze them in after my daughter went to bed for the evening, and at least a couple hours after my last nursing session. I nursed for 14 months.
If you do freeze your breastmilk, a friend of mine recently recommended testing it on baby pretty soon after bc she had issues with her frozen milk tasting metallic once thawed, and her baby wouldn’t drink it at all— it was three months worth of pumped and wasted breastmilk. Also, when/if you do go back to work, you can always just feed baby what you pump the day before and then nurse when you’re home. It’s good to have a freezer stash (mine was always small, like a weeks worth), but the composition of breastmilk changes as your baby ages, so feeding an 11 month old milk that a 3 month old would drink won’t be as beneficial as feeding the 11 month old fresh milk.
