Kind of bummed... anyone else prefer midwives?

With my son we delivered with an amazing team of midwives, but we've moved and the hospital we're looking to go to this time doesn't separate midwife or OB patients... so you could end up with either type of person delivering the baby. I seriously do not want an OB to deliver, but I really don't want to drive 2 hours to the hospital we used with our son...

that's how my ob office is. there is one midwife and two doctors. I liked the midwife and LOVED one of the doctors.. and of course I ended up delivering with the doctor I didn't really care for. but for me, he was barely there. he was only there to catch and stitch me up basically 🤷 my nurse was more of a presence than the doctor! still, I wonder if I'll be able to deliver with the other doctor this time around and be able to compare. I hope you get lucky and get to deliver with the midwife!

We are driving two hours so I can use the midwife that delivered our daughter. I had to be induced with her and it was rough. I’m 100% sure that I would’ve had a c section without her help. The doc on call had been pushing for a c section and I was having no health issues. I obviously would have if it was medically necessary for either of us. He was just over it and wanted to move on. Fast forward to now we live in a small town that has few if any midwives to choose from. I’m sure people will think I’m crazy, but given my history I feel it’s worth it. My midwife told me it’s super common for people to drive like that and she believes it will all be fine. So here goes! Good luck with whatever you choose!

you seriously canyon request a midwife? that. is messed up. my office does pretty much whatever I ask as long as it is safe.
