Are any mommy not giving their babies the pacifier? Please let me know why or why not.

My daughter is 5 months and she’s never had one. Personally don’t like them and think that children now a days use them for too long. I hate seeing a child with one when they’re walking around in public.

neither of my kids got one, so I don't think I'll give this one a pacifier either. We never needed it. My sister did and it was a pain when it was time to get rid of them

With our first I said I would never be that parent running to find a pacifier. Well she ended up getting one. We had to feed her by syringe and use the pacifier to help her suck it down. At one year old they “got lost” and it was no big deal. 
With my second we said NO pacifiers! Well she almost died to complications. Ended up in nicu for 5 weeks. And they did give her a pacifier to help comfort her. I wouldn’t have changed a thing. She was also easy to wean off when it was time. 
I think if you are worried about crazy attachment just make it something for bed. When we wake up pacifier stays in bed. When it’s nap time or bedtime they can have it. Obviously that training is for older baby and not infant. 
But do what you feel is right! And if you change your mind one way or the other... parenting is a learn as you go.

I refused to give my oldest one. She developed a thumb/sucking habit (MUCH harder to break) and ended up with cellulitis in her arm and almost lost her arm due to the thumb-sucking. My next two children were given pacifiers immediately for that reason. I will never put another child at risk of that.

Im not going to keep running to give the baby a passi when if i train them without it they will fall asleep on their own. It’s pointless.

We are planning on using them. I used them until I was 5😂 I have also read that it can prevent SIDS

if he needs help soothing then we'll let him have one until a certain age, but we'll just wait and see. :) I'm not against them. I had them and weened myself sorta. my grandparents dog helped too. 😂 she would take them if I put them down and even took them from me but apparently I didn't even care at that point. we have photos somewhere of her with a pacifier in her mouth. 😂

We did not. Parent and baby become a slave to it, and most of my friends have had a nightmare trying to break them of the habit when they’re 3 or older! We offered it twice, he spit it out, and we were thrilled. Never regretted it. He sucked his thumb for maybe a month, and that was it.
