Where to get hcg test?

I see a lot of women posting about their hcg levels doubling. Are they just going to a regular doctor or urgent care to get a blood test every couple of days?

My OB does not test HCG unless there are concerns. It was never tested first pregnancy, and I had one two day test with my second because I had a bleed. Unless there are extenuating circumstances, my OB starts with the 8 week appointment.

I had it done at my first appointment. They do blood work for hcg and everything else.

I had asked the same question because I saw so many women saying they keep getting tested. The responses I got were often if somebody’s had a previous history of miscarriages or complications they are getting monitored frequently. I don’t have any prior experiences so my doctor didn’t even see me until eight weeks and just did the routine testing

When I got my first positive home pregnancy test I called my OB office and asked for a blood test. If you have any concerns you can ask them for a follow up blood test to make sure they’re doubling. I think I did 3 blood tests. If you’re closer to your primary care doctor they can also order a blood test for you.
