how do i let my mom know without her freaking out especially if she's strict?

so I'm 16 and I just started being sexually active and I just don't know how to let my mom know. I don't like really holding secrets from her so its super hard but the way she acts makes me fear talking to her about stuff like that.. idk how could I let let her know in the best way?

I have a really strict mother as well, and I have never told her about my personal sexual life at all. I’m almost 21 now and it’s been 4 and a half years since I became sexually active. Because quite honestly it is NOBODYS business except your own to know who you have been sleeping with and for how long or how often. If you don’t think that it will turn out well, or god forbid hurt your relationship with your mom I would avoid it all together. That being said if you feel like you want to tell her, you should. If you feel like you are ready to make the adult decisions that come with growing up like sex and having a job then address this situation like an adult and just talk with her about it. Personally I come from a catholic household and my parents would literally murder me if they found out I had sex before I was married, but that may be different for you, you never really know their position on things until you ask.
