helmet for baby girl?!?!?!

so the last appointment (4mos) the doctor mentioned possible a helmet for our baby girl..Its positional not Deformation..Its not affecting her at all..Her features are the same..No eye, or ear shifting..So I was wondering do you think looking at this picture she would need a helmet..Most babies out grow the flat spot all on their own..This is the difference between 4 mos and now almost 5 mos old..

Looks alot better in the last picture doesn't it or is it just me being a momma who doesn't want to admit she may need the helmet?!..Please no rude or mean comments..!

My baby girl had a helmet and it was a difficult decision for my husband and I, but I am glad we did it. We didn’t think her head really looked that flat, but I took pictures to track her progress each week (probably to make myself feel better about putting her through that) and saw a drastic improvement fairly quickly. We stuck with the routine that they gave us and she was able to finish with it earlier than they had originally anticipated. The first couple days are the hardest, but it gets much easier after that. My mother in law was a children physiotherapist. She also went to foreign countries to help with polio (disformations) for example and she was very active with studies about newborns (also the flat heads). She told me that it doesn’t have any effect according to research. Its just a lot of money and hassle. I don’t have sources but 💯 trust her. 
They also told me to get our daughter a helmet, we didn’t and her head is perfectly fine now. It’s better to go to a chiropractor to see if there is something stuck that prevents the head to turn the other way. And every time your baby sleeps you should turn the head to the other side. Even if it’s just for a little while. And during the day we placed her on her belly when she went to sleep.

I would listen to the doctors and the medical advice they gave and get her a helmet. I know as a mom we don’t like admitting when our perfect babies have an issue but the helmet won’t have to be worn forever and you definitely want to fix this now if it’s an issue.

I just commented and it wouldn’t let me put the pictures in the comments section! But this was prob around 6 months and then now at 15 months. Plus with your baby being a girl, once her hair comes in full you won’t be able to tell at all if there is any flatness.
I let him nap on his belly and just watched him carefully. I think that helped the most.

I personally wouldn’t do it! Our baby had an awful flat spot. We had a hard birth and his neck was very sore for a while so he would only lay a certain way. It was very flat for most of his first year even after he became mobile but now you can’t even tell at 15 months. 
Plus her head doesn’t even look flat to me!

Things my pediatrician pointed out. 
#1 once they started being more upright...sitting, standing, crawling, walking their head starts straighten out. Their heads grow and shift until they are like 2.
#2 She's a girl so even if she does have a spot her hair will cover it...unless she wants to go bald lol
keep up tummy time and you can even let her sleep on her tummy during naps as long as you are there to watch. Shes at the age we're she's going to start rolling over if she hasn't yet and will probably belly sleep on her own.

You can get these caps they sleep in called a tortle. It helps even that flat spot out. Also watch to see if she’s constantly turning her head in the same position. My son had torticolis and we had to do physical therapy to fix the tight muscles in his neck. He has a bit of a deformed head. It once his hair grew on you can’t even tell. Personally I wouldn’t get a helmet. There are other things you can do to fix the issue.
