Other children while in labor/delivery/recovery

Two years ago we moved across the country away from our families and we dont have any family where we live now. Initially my mother in law was to come down for a week and my mother after that for a week. That way our other children will be taken care of when I go into labor and we could have some help in the days following our arrival home. Two weeks ago my MIL informed us she wasn’t coming. So we planned for my mother to come for two weeks instead. Last night she called and made a big stink about feeling bad that my older sister (who lives near her and who she babysits 2 days a week for for 2 hours) had to find a sitter for her kids while she’s down here. Granted my father and step mother also live near her, as well as my brother and his wife. She has refused to find a sitter for her girls even though she has had 30 weeks to find one and still has 8 if need be. Anyway, my mother is also no longer coming so we are in a bind as to what to do with our other children when I go into labor. Does anyone else not have family near and have older children? What is your plan for labor/delivery/recovery?
