Advice?

Currently TTC, but I’ve always been the type to want everything planned out😂. But  what are some pros and cons of breastfeeding? And why did YOU choose breastfeeding opposed to formula?

my daughter was formula fed because although i kno that the breastmilk is best- i just couldn't handle the pain of it at all.  at the moment my son is mostly breastfed except one bottle at night.

Tons of reasons. If your baby is sick, your nipple will detect what antibodies the baby needs and send it in the next feeding. It's like instant medicine. Breastfed babies get better faster. Also there is the bonding. It's free. It's got the best nutrients for a baby human. Its convenient. Now that I shave to supplement to get my daughter's weight up, it is so much work. I'm always washing and sterilizing bottle and pump parts. I have to make sure that I've got enough formula to last the night or while I'm out and about. There's the mixing and bottling everything before hand. You also have to make sure everything is portioned ahead of time because once your baby sucks in the nipple, you gave discard the formula within one hour. It's also harder on her tummy than breastmilk. She gets gassy now from eating too quickly and swallowing air. I didn't have to burp her or do as much laundry from spit up when she was ebf.

It’s strange I never really ‘thought’ about how I would feel my daughter I just kinda knew I would breastfeed (or give it a go at least) but I suppose I chose to breastfeed for a lot of reasons; breast milk is full of amazing things, antibodies etc and is best. I know that’s a horrible saying: breast is best! But research wise it is. Breast milk is free!!! That was a big push who doesn’t love to save money?! And bonding really. At the beginning breast feeding was hard but now I love it and enjoy that time with my daughter. I also think it’s easier!! I’ve made her a few formula bottles as she had bad weight gain (a medical reason nothing to do with breast feeding) and it was such a pain in the bum!! Waiting for water to cool blah blah! Lol stick her on the boob anyday!

I chose it because you pass your antibodies on as well as bonding with your baby. I am not a very emotional person and the bonding is just amazing. I never knew i could love someone so much and watching her eat just brings out all the feelings.& don’t get that as much with a bottle. Also, it’s cheaper! Haha. We do formula every now and then (running errands, or grandparents watching her for a couple hours, etc). It’s also great to have some formula on hand for when you are just plain exhausted so hubby/bf can feed them and bond as well. You can also bottle feed with breastmilk if you want, but I didn’t pump early on to have any stored. My baby switches back and forth from breastfeeding to bottle/formula just fine :)
