I was at lunch with a group of women in the 20’s and 30’s. One of the women desperately wants a child, and her boyfriend of 5 years have not even proposed. She can’t hold on a job and she is living in his apartment.

Several of the women told her to “just get pregnant” behind the guy’s back. “He loves you, and he won’t leave you. He is a nice guy and he will do the right thing. Just tell him it is an accident afterwards.

I was shocked that grown, adult women would tell each other to do such a dishonest thing. It is not only a terrible thing to lie: and how can you have any respect for yourself when you lie to “trap” a man?

But apparently, I am told that women do this pretty frequently. I voiced my opinion on what a bad idea this this, and I am told that “happy” marriages have resulted from a “fake” accidental pregnancy!!

What is your experience? Is this a “thing”??
