Do people complicate things in religion ?

I was talking to my brother and he basically said he wanted God to show him the right way to go for his job. I basically told him that if you trust that your steps are ordered by God then you're being led. He basically said it you have to pray, and wait and until you hear from God which way to go. I think he is complicating things. I think overall alot of religious people overcomplicate things. What do you think ?

Yes, people do complicate things but I think your brother is making it sound a lot more simply than most people do 😂

For me PERSONALLY, I think and believe the way your brother does. As someone who puts their trust and faith in God, means that God will show you the way. I believe that when you are stuck in a hard spot and you pray about it (whatever it may be), God will help you make the decision and lead you down the right path. For me, a prime example is, I was recently diagnosed with PCOS and told that i may have a very hard time getting pregnant. My husband and I have been trying for over four years and it has yet to happen, my doctor has offered assistance with fertility medications and treatments and whatnot if we choose to do so. After praying long and hard about the situation, I have made the choice to put my faith into God and trust in him that when it’s his timing and he decides to give us our child(ren) then he will. I just feel really strongly about fertility meds and for myself I just don’t want that as an option for the time being. I believe that God has other plans for us for the time being and it’s just not the right time, so I will continue to put my faith and trust in him until he chooses to give us our child. 
Note: I am not pushing religion on anyone, I am simply telling my point of view and referring my situation to your story. 😊

If prayer helps a person find direction and make good choices for themselves how is that a bad thing? When I’m stuck making a hard decision I pray and ask for guidance, it has always worked for me. Sometimes it takes a while, but I’ve always managed to make a good choice. I’ve had atheists tell me it’s just my way of thinking it through and there is nothing ‘godly’ about it. Even if you chose to see it that way, the person still takes the time to come to a good decision (hopefully- we all mess up sometimes). It shouldn’t matter how they get to that decision if they’re making the right choice for themselves and those that depend on them. 
As a religious person prayer is over complicating something. I find prayer comforting and helps me clear my head. Sure I’ll make many choices based off my faith too, but I wouldn’t say that I’ve complicated my life. However someone chooses to live their life is their business. If they’re not hurting anyone and making good choices for them then let them be.

Yes. And you all it KILLS me when people won’t go to the doctors because they “wait on God” to heal them 😭😭
Waiting on jobs, waiting on buying a home, waiting on getting married etc. I think it’s crazy 🤦‍♀️ If God knows everything, then whatever you end up doing he already knew and it was “in his plan”. So just actually do stuff and stop being lazy 🙃

I leave things to God all the time, because I let Him run the show, praying is really just communication and spending some time talking to Him. It’s not being over complicated, it’s ultimately about relationship, it’s like consulting a friend on what they think you should do about something.
