Flu Shot Ultimatum from SIL

My SIL is due any day and sent out a text to the entire family this morn stating if anyone didn’t get the flu shot that they will not be able to see the baby until he/she is 6 months old. This is her second child.

I have decided i am not getting the flu shot. I never have ever and i feel since its the end of the flu season i will be fine. My husband did not get the shot and never has either.

Every year since i can remember the news always says “this is the worst flu season ever”. Of course it’s awful people have died from it but then again that happens every year. And this is my opinion so i mean no intention of getting into an argument over this

Do you think she’s overreacting? 6 months is a loooong time.

Edit: so it’s clear i am 100% respecting her wishes. I guess i am bummed out because of course i want to meet my niece or nephew. I was stressed all day thinking about it. Thank you for your input.
