Sex Dolls... for sexual predators??

Question

I just wanted to say that this is just as question that came about when discussing the sex doll craze that kind of broke the internet, while also slowly making its way to daytime television talk shows with a friend of mine and I am in no way saying that we should have this, I just wanted to get you guy’s opinion on this matter...
With that being said... 
Pedophilia is obviously disgusting, morally wrong and should not be normalized. However, it’s also a serious psychiatric disorder that majority of pedophiles can’t control even if they wanted to. I was previously watching this documentary on pedophilia and it was focusing on this guy who has an online website for existing pedophiles like himself who have a very, almost irresistible attraction to children but has never acted on their attraction or urges. Although I disagreed with him we he started making a connection to homosexuality, this documentary and the up and coming rise of the sex doll phenomenon has made me raise this question....
Should pedophiles who have never acted on their urges ( & even those who have) be able to have their own version of a sex doll that resembles a child, that could possibly keep them from harming real children?

I think generally the approach to treating pedophilia is suppression, medicine, and looking for a treatable cause. So I don’t think that this is a healthy way to deal with it. Not to mention that the production of those dolls would be disgusting and don’t doubt would cause riots.

as someone who works in child protection I can tell you this wouldn't work with most paedophiles the behaviour escalates the more they indulge so it states with a few pictures then videos then that stop working for them so this might push some closer to actually abusing a child. I would also point out that for the most part all forms of abuse whether it's physical mental or sexual are about control the person generally has a lack of control over something in their life so they feel the need to control another person through one of these means to regain control in their own life.

I DO NOT believe for one second that dolls deter behavior. I 100% believe that it could actually increase the likelihood that these pedophiles will look elsewhere, eventually. Just by looking at statistics of pornography and how it gives false expectations, and how it has been proven to increase the likelihood of addiction and cheating, that’s enough for me to feel uncomfortable about using dolls as a deterrent.

I’m not comfortable saying yes to this without seeing some solid scientific studies that this could actually help stop them from acting out vs. actually escalating the need to act out on a real child. So far, I’ve not seen much from doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists, and researchers about whether or not this would have positive outcomes on stopping pedophiles from acting out. I’ve really only heard from manufacturers who sell these types of dolls. I’m not ready to take their word for it that this would actually help.

I'm in between. On one hand I'm thinking if they don't actually do any harm to someone, what they do in their own home is their business.
But I also believe someone who is suffering pedophilia needs to do their best to have it under control. Having sex with a realistic child doll is just attempting to get to the closest thing to a real child. Their urges are wrong and they meed some type of therapy to help cope and ignore them. This would do the opposite.

I’m very undecided on this. 
On one hand, it’s preventing them from acting out on their desires, therefore saving children from harm and letting them live a relatively normal life.
On the other, for some, it might not be enough. Plus, I think child like sex dolls are quite creepy and feel like for some, it might normalize it.
