HSG- Anyone have one before?

Question

I finally started today after being a week late with all BFN and a negative blood test. My doctor is sending me to get my remaining tube checked with an HSG. ( Lost the other due to an eptopic pregnancy that ruptured). What should I expect? Is it painful? How many people went on to positive results after? Did they put you on meds? Please!!! Tell me your stories!!!

I had mine December 19th the 3rd day of my cycle. It was uncomfortable because I was laying on a table bare bottom down, it was my OBGYN, nurse and two radiologists. Dr inserted catheter, once the dye was administered I felt discomfort. Once I stud up a little bit came out, and hour later I didn’t have any cramps. I personally freaked myself out reading reviews on the internet. But overall wasn’t bad. I did get a faint positive jan 13th (expected period date) however dr states I had a miscarriage because my HCG levels were dropping. So all in all it worked for us. And will continue to try.
