What age did your baby/toddler understand telling them NO or other simple request?

Before a year. But.. once she hit 18 months all that went out the window. She’s 2 now and just screams no back at you 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

my now 2 year old knew the word no no at 9 months but since then has used it against me when I ask her to do something she doesn't want to.  but she uses it with a stern voice and proceeds to do the opposite of what I asked

She understood no by about 9 months. She was prob about 14/15 months when I could ask her to do something and she would know what I wanted. Maybe a little earlier.
