Who performed your wedding ceremony?

Calling all brides! I need some help. My fiance and I need to decide on someone to do our wedding ceremony, but there's a problem. Neither of us are super, but my side of the family is. I don't want a full Catholic mass attached to my wedding, but I also don't want it to be "Do you? Do you? Cool, kiss." Any advice is welcome! I really need help.

We’re not religious but my husband’s family is. We got a nondenominational reverend and she did a great personalized ceremony and we had her do one small bible reading and a prayer towards the end. It really made my husband’s grandma happy but it wasn’t really religious so we were thrilled with it.

I'm not religious in the slightest. nor is he. I'm not even sure what his family is, my family is more Christian. 
my mom's best friend my "aunt" has been there for us through everything and she's Jewish. I asked her and my uncle if they could fill out the paperwork online to be a justice of the peace to marry us. 
they did, and it was perfect! they really like native American culture and used some beautiful verses.

We had our family friend do ours and it wasn’t what your describing. She had readings prepared and did a great job tailoring it to us. It was very personal and we read our own vows and it was perfect.
She added some mildly religious stuff for my mom but most of it was movie and book references (she also did the beginning of the speech from the princess bride), which worked because our wedding was literary themed. She also interviewed us separately and talked about how close our “Falling in Love” stories were to each other.
Anyway, just because it’s not an ordained minister from a major faith doesn’t mean it will be casual or rushed.

My husband's side contains some very religious individuals and mine has some as well but we are both not. At all. We had a themed wedding. We asked my grandfather's best friend to marry us and at first he had some religious stuff in it but changed it to fit us. No one said anything to us about it after the wedding. Before the wedding my husband's biological father was shocked but that is what happens when you are gone almost a decade and have no clue what is going on. *cough* But remember, it is your day! Write your vows, be silly, have some people on your side to help keep you headed in the direction you want. Non religious/traditional ceremonies can be beautiful and elegant as well. our families are Catholic, but we aren't very religious per se. What we did was get his uncle to get ordained, he was Happy to, and had him do very personal and semi spiritual ceremony. It felt personal and wasn't longer than 20mins, so it wasn't a bore
