What would you do ?

I recently found out that I’m 5 weeks pregnant and I had a miscarriage in October at five weeks I work as a cook which involves standing in a hot kitchen all day and a lot of heavy lifting . I don’t want to announce my pregnancy till I’m at least 12 weeks in fear of another miscarriage but I know I can’t be lifting 50 +lbs everyday .so would you let management know ?

It’s of course your choice on waiting, but i think concerns of a miscarriage should justify your concerns about heavy lifting, and if you have the right manager, you should be ok to mention even though it’s early and seek discretion from him/her. I think it’s better than faking an injury that could lead to questions about workman’s comp.
