Resenting him?!

Question

Can anybody let me know if they have felt the same in the first month?! 
I have a month old baby and my husband has obviously gone back to work, but he loves running and does this after work and sometimes doesn’t get back till 6pm. 
I’m starting to slowly resent him as I haven’t had ‘alone’ time like he does since baby was born. I know I sound stupid and jealous but I just wasn’t sure if I’m the only one that’s felt like this?!

Yup, although my resentment trigger was sleep. He would be like "man I'm exhausted" and I'd look at him and murmur "not sure how. you actually get to sleep at night!" and finally he called me on it. Reminded me we are a team and if i need help pto ask him. Stop acting like I HAVE to do it all on my own when I am CHOOSING to. That got me a little bit...

Ok my mom literally has this EXACT same story. My dad decided to train for a marathon when she was pregnant! Obviously he was still training when I was born so my mom bought him a jogging stroller! 😂🤣🤣 Surprise Hunny, I got this so Kelly could go on your runs with you! Now this was almost 30 years ago so I'm sure there are a billion recommendations on when babies can go with parents on jogs now but this is what happened with my parents. FYI my mom STILL complains about this, so you may want to talk to him about it soon 😉

my baby is 14 months and I still feel this at times. best have an open dialog and explain that you need a bit of time, even if your soaking in the tub during that time lol

YES. My husband is the same exact way except aside from running he also lifts weights and doesn’t get back until 7. I wish I could go to the gym stress free and come home when I feel like. I went to the gym once with my baby near me(tiny family gym) and I could tell he was about to fuss so I cut it short which is okay but it just only makes it harder for me to work on myself. I know exactly how you feel.

Communication is so important in the first few months. Talk to him. Ask him if he can find a better time to run. Like after baby is born. Tell him you’re feeling lonely and a little resentful. See if he’ll let you take a bath or watch a tv show by yourself and have him take the baby. Then when he gets his running time in (when baby is in bed) you won’t feel so mad at him for getting his unwinding time.

I think what you are feeling is pretty common.  I felt it.  My SIL was so upset she told my brother it feels like her life stopped and his just kept going.
It is tough because all of a sudden you have this little person to take care of who needs EVERYTHING from you.  You can continue to do the things you love, but after kids it takes creativity.
You probably need to sit with your husband and mention that running after work isn’t going to work right now.  He can run in the morning or later at night, but you need a break earlier than 6 pm.
