Starting clomid and possible PCOS?

So after a bunch of initial testing with my fertility specialist, everything for the most part came back normal. He said I am very borderline PCOS and unexplained infertility. I have some indications of PCOS but not enough to completely declare the reasoning that. He said since he thinks it might be more ovulatory issue than unexplained, he wants to start me on clomid first. Wondering what others experiences were on clomid? Did it help? What was the cost you paid total? ( my doctor told me $1,000 for a cycle of clomid for all the monitoring tests and blood work) do you have PCOS? Would love to hear success stories. Feeling kinda down.
