Baby won’t take a bottle when I’m around?
My baby is EBF & I pump maybe twice a day to build my freezer stash for when I go back to work. I also pump so that in the event I need to be away from my baby someone else can feed her.
I’ve taken my baby to my MIL or my mom’s house or left her with my husband a couple times when I have dr appts or need to run errands and she has no problem taking a bottle of breastmilk. But I’ve noticed a handful of times that if I’m with her (not holding her but just in the same room or house) she won’t take a bottle. For example, the other day my stepmom came over to my house to babysit while I took an online test for my Master’s Program. My stepmom was in the living room with my baby, and I was in my home office working on my test. I left her a bottle incase she got hungry. My baby absolutely would not take the bottle, she cried and cried like I’ve never heard before, so I quickly put her to my breast and she was as content as ever, nursed and fell asleep.
Like I said this has happened a few times and always when I’m around, is it possible that my baby knows I’m there and just wants me instead of the bottle?
