Need help deciding my Baby Shower dress and/or Maternity pictures dress.

First of all I'm having a little girl. I decided on a long maxi dress with empire waist. I have several others and they look great on me. I plan to do solid color possible adding a Maternity Sash belt. Amazon and other places have them in 20+ different colors. But I decide on what to get.

I don't want a pink dress, I rarely wear pink. I'll never wear it again. I typically wear shades of blue or reds. I almost bought a purple dress. Even if I do go with blues I found some adorable feminine sashes that might work.

My shower in a month, maternity pics in 2ish. I figured I should match the shower. (I do have a dress already for the shower that might work it's just floral. ) Should my dress be the same for both? Should my maternity pictures match the baby room? Match my house colors, neutral or whatever I like? Any suggestions would be appreciated!
