Is it babysitting if it is your one child?

Me and my husband (who seems to be pissing me off today) had stated to me that he "babysits" our son while i go to night classes...I told him it isnt babysitting if it is his own child. Am I wrong or right?

Babysitting definition for those who don’t know : look after a child or children while the parents are out.
PARENTING definition : be or act as a mother or father to (someone)
Theres a difference. For those who say you babysit your kids.. excuse me NO.. Its YOUR kid. Thats called parenting. No such thing as babysitting when you created/birthed the baby no matter what. So no its not babysitting. Its called parenting. No one babysits there kid, they parent the kid. Doesnt matter if ones working or going to school still called parenting. NOT BABYSITTING. Hope that clarifies the meanings.

Babysitting is a job, that means you get paid. You DON'T get paid to watch YOUR OWN kid. Therefore, it is not babysitting. I believe the correct term he's looking for is BEING A FUCKING PARENT. He was BEING A FUCKING PARENT. Not "babysitting."

We call it babysitting or watching the baby because the responsibility is the same regardless of who does it...just my husband and I don’t get paid. So, yeah, my husband “babysits” while I shower but I “babysit” all day long. The term is not only for him.

damnit i clicked yes but then i read the question again, the right way😂 no!! babysitting is not watching your own kid. you basically signed up for the responsibility of that kid, so you cant really call it babysitting.
