So this might be long but I just need to vent/need advice. So my husband has anxiety issues. MAJOR anxiety issues and what I’m pretty sure is undiagnosed OCD. His family told me that when he was younger he used to turn the lights on and off a couple timeS just to be sure he turned them off and a lot of other stuff. A little BG about his family: They DONT believe in mental illnesses and stuff. They think you’re either on drugs or you’re possessed or crazy if you’re depressed or something like that.

So these strange things my husband used to do, they thought were quirks or he was crazy. Sooo anyways he recently had a flu shot and he got the side effects from it which was being “sick.” That’s where my problems really started. When my husband got sick, it was disastrous. He’d check his temperature every 2 minutes, check the back of his throat in the mirror with a flashlight every hour, try to hack up anything after a couch, force himself to cough and wouldn’t take medicine. His reason for being so paranoid half the time is because of his fucking mom. She’s watches the news all day but where she really gets her news from is fucking Facebook. Especially things her friends repost.

It’s the most obnoxious thing ever because it’s always extremely far fetched and she uses it to fear monger everyone in her family. She read some stuff about the flu and told my husband about it. He immediately freaked out and was adamant they poisoned him or some shit

His mom had told me she read on Facebook that this lady got her son the flu shot and he contacted the flu from it and almost died and she was sure they put something in the flu shot that was killing people. She made me “promise” not to tell my husband and the next day my husband was asking EVERYONE he knew if it was possible that they added something to his flu shot. He’ll text everyone he knows who works in the medical field his symptoms. In the past two weeks we’ve gone to 3 different hospitals and 4 different clinics. They’ve all assured him he’s fine but he won’t listen. The reason I bring up his anxiety is because for the first week of being sick from the flu shot, he was in bed scared out of his mind. He was sure he had the flu and he kept 3 different thermometers around him to check his temperature. When he finally got over that, he ended up with a week of nausea and diarrhea. He won’t eat and when he does it’s CRAP food. When we went to a clinic to see what was wrong with him, they figured he’d probably had acid reflux but that overall he was fine and nothing serious was wrong with him. That shit won’t register in his head tho. He’s told me that he doesn’t feel liked he can breathe and catch his breath and that he feels a lot of pressure on his chest. He has all the symptoms of anxiety but he won’t get help. I have really bad anxiety that took a year of therapy for me to finally get in check. He refuses to see a therapist because his parents raised him to believe they’re “fake” and all they’re after is your money. When he tells his dad how he feels, he just laughs and tells him he’s stressed and making himself crazy. I can’t get him to eat, sleep and he hasn’t gone to work in two weeks. His boss took him to a clinic and they figured since he was so nauseous, he probably had a stomach bug but he refuses to take antibiotics. All this has caused me to resent his parents because they won’t help either. They only make things worse by brushing it aside and calling him crazy. His mom says he’s missing vitamins and she’ll ask around and see what vitamins he might need but that hes fine. His sisters make fun of him for having “anxiety.” It feels like I’m the only one trying to get him to feel better. My mom and me are constantly trying to help him but he won’t listen. He got sick the same time my daughter ended up with RSV and if she woke up with a high temp, He’d insist I check his too because he felt bad as well. If I was trying to comfort her, he’d beg me to give her to my parents because he “seriously didn’t feel good” and needed me. I’m at my wits end guys. I’m currently at a clinic right now because he was at my parents house freaking out. Idk what to do because I’m TRYING to be there for him but I’m starting to get pissed. On top of trying to take care of him, my daughter and myself(I have a sinus infection) I can’t handle all of it. He’s constantly needing my attention because he says he can’t breathe. When my daughter RSV was bad I didn’t sleep for 5 straight days. we took her to the hospital and i was there for 12 hours until 4 am. After that I had to wake up almost every hour at night to help her cough up mucus and make sure she wouldn’t choke on it and puke because she kept throwing up from coughing so bad. And when she was finally better and I was getting sleep on the first night she was better, he was trying to wake me up and was mad I wouldn’t wake up to make sure he was ok. I felt bad but I was exhausted from taking care of her 24/7 for 5 days while dealing with him at the same time. Guys, wtf do I do? He won’t get help, won’t take medicine, doesn’t listen to anything anyone tells him.
