So how does everyone count months?

I am just so confused I've always counted backwards from my due date. And counted that as 9 months so I will be 6 months in 4 days. but according to a bunch of charts I keep seeing I am 7 months in 2 days. (at 27 weeks) I'm so confused.

When those charts say how many months you are, they usually mean you begin that month on a certain week. So for example you will begin your 7th month at 27 weeks, which means you at 27weeks1day, you will be 6 months and 1 day (1 day into your 7th month). It’s definitely confusing but counting backwards from your due date is a good way to go. Or dividing 40 by 9 and then multiplying that number by the month you are wondering about (40/9=4.44, 4.44x6= 26.66, 4.44x7=31.11)

I go backwards. The moment my baby is born I won’t say I have a one year old because it’s in its first year of life.

I’m just assuming there’s 4 weeks a month and we’re pregnant for 10 months. So 20 weeks = 5 months, 24 weeks = 6 months etc. easier for me to keep track in my head 😂

At 36 weeks, you’d be “in your 9th month” but your due date is when you are technically 9 full months pregnant. If that makes sense. 
No matter how you look at it, 40 weeks is only 9 months. Regardless of what any of the women on here say, nobody is pregnant for 10 months 🙄

Week 36 is the beginning of 9 months. So you are IN the 9th month, but not done with it yet.

It just depends on whether you’re counting the completed month or the month you’re in. You will have completed 6 months of pregnancy, so that’s why some say 6 months pregnant. You’ll also be in your 7th month then, so you could also say that.
