did you have a pap/pelvic exam at first appointment?

just curious. I asked what would happen at my first appointment and they didn't mention it but it's been 13 months since my last pap so I'm guessing maybe?

I voted no, but Dr wants to do one next appointment because she didn’t have time when I came in.

Depends on the doctor but I mean it really only makes sense if anything is abnormal or wrong they want to catch it in the beginning that’s how my doctor explained it to me which made perfect sense and it doesn’t necessarily have to be an STD but they could find a lump in your breast on they could find abnormal cells and it’s best to clear all that up very early in pregnancy because if they have to do treatment it’s less likely to hurt the baby so if you haven’t had one I would just askfor one ...they asked me when was my last one was and I couldn’t remember if it was 2015 or 16 and they did one anyways but I don’t even know why they asked because I would’ve asked for one anyways I don’t care if I had one 6 months ago.

I got a pap during my last pregnancy since it was time for one and it was honestly way more uncomfortable than when I wasn’t pregnant. If they mention it this time I’m gonna refuse until after baby is born. But that’s just me

Yes I think most doctors do that and of course they ask when the last pap was done.

yes, both pregnancies they did a pap before the ultrasound. I mean, they're going up there anyway so may as well 🙄   they also checked urine and blood at the first visit with both pregnancies.

I had mine on my second visit. The scheduled it at my first.

I think if you are due to have one whilst pregnant, it is rescheduled for 12 weeks after baby is born
