Im not sure if this is in the correct place, But i was wondering peoples oppinions on paedophiles, Whether people think they can be rehabilitated and if its acceptable to socialize with them after they are released from prison.? My oppinion is ABSOLUTELY NOT. They should suffer a miserable, Lonely terrible issolated life! They took away a childs innocence and potentially ruined the childs life. So again. In my oppinion do not deserve forgiveness- rehabilitated or not. //The reason i ask this is because my brother in law has an old freind who is a convicted child molester that he defends, communicates with and swears black and blue is "rehabilitated". This conversation happened today and i am shocked to my core, I am having a hard time processing how anyone could associate themselves around a person who has done such discusting things. I am also wondering whether defending a convicted paedophile (who is still serving time in prison might i add) saying things like "i only happened twice in 2007" "it was circumstantial" makes my brother in law any better of a person? I am seriously concidering cutting him out of my life. This may sound harsh, But i have a son of my own to worry about and if my brother in law is willing to defend somebody like that, I dont want my children or any bodys children near him either. I know associating with a pedophile doesn't make you one obviously, it just makes me uneasy knowing that in his eyes.. this man is apparently a good person who has been punished so is now deserving of forgiveness, I mean... im sorry but no amount of rehabilitation or punishment is going to take those children's pain away or take back the fact he stole there innocence. I dont believe he should ever be free and Esspecially not forgiven. I would also like to add that this man was the childrens step father. These children should have been able to trust this man and instead, He abused them.
