1st Period

My first baby girl will be 13 in a month and she had her first period this morning. She has been cramping for a couple days now and I kinda knew it would happen soon but she's not thrilled, (no one really is) in fact she's kinda sad, so she's hiding out in her room, watching tv. I wish there was something I could do to cheer her up, beyond the birds and the bees (which we've discussed several times) what else is there? what should I get her? we're going shopping, does she need anything other than pain meds and pads? I'm so nervous and sad myself..My baby is growing up 😢😭
