My (ex)boyfriend and I had been in a ldr for the whole time we’ve been together (18 months). Since our parents couldn’t know about us, we rarely got a chance to meet up and call each other. So we ended it, even though we knew it was going to happen in the future due to the distance. We are friends now and he said saying “ily” might slip somewhere and sent me a goodnight text of “goodnight... ily still” and I know this can’t happen because it’s just going to make things harder. So I told him we should distance ourselves for a while so it’ll make it easier to talk to each other as normal friends.

I didn’t talk to him the whole day yesterday because I said we shouldn’t, and I really want to talk to him but I know it’ll hurt me if I do. I’m so sad and I don’t know if I’m doing the right thing
