Multiple Egg Retrievals before IVF

So I had some really bad news January 30. My tubes are completly blocked.

IVF

is now our only option. I was already diagnosed with low ovarian reserve. (amh .49 fsh 5.5) so my RE has recommened multiple egg retrievals before we start

. Anyone else have this done? What happens before egg retrievals? Do they sedate you for egg retrieval? I am excited and nervous. Any help or pointer is greatly appreciated.

I'm 36 and have had two healthy babies the old fashion way, they are both 17 and 16 now.
