First cup! "Dry run"

I just got my first cup in the mail today, cleaned it and tried to insert it, the first time it wasn't in quite far enough so I tried again and I think I got it almost in far enough. I do have a couple questions though, I went to run my finger around it to make sure it oppened and hardly had room to get my finger in there. Also I could feel the cup inside me, it didn't hurt but I noticed it, will it get sore? Does this mean that its not in or fitting property?
