Ashamed?

I need some opinions on this please. I've been with my boyfriend for about 3 and a half months now and he's met my parents and closest friends because they are all really important to me so it was important to me that they get along. I know I won't meet his parents (he's told me the reasons for it and I'm very okay with them and respect his decision there) but he's never talked about me meeting his friends or his brother even though he had the chance to introduce me to them if he'd celebrated his birthday last month and I don't know I've always been quite insecure about myself and him seemingly not wanting me to meet his friends only makes it worse for me. I've talked to him about it and he said he wants me to meet them, but that was all he said about it and the topic has been dropped since then. It makes me feel like he's ashamed to introduce me to them. Am I over-reacting?
