Group b strep

I went in today for a 35 week appt. The nurse said I needed to have the group b strep done today, so I was like okay no problem. With my first child the doctor did the swab and everything. Well today this nurse hands me the long swab thing and said okay follow these directions on a piece of paper! I was like HUH?? I can’t even see my lady parts and you want me to try and swab down there by myself!? Has This happened to anyone else where you got your own group b step sample instead of the doctor or nurse?
