Brown discharge on the rod HELP

I’m on the rod and have been for 4 months and I had spotting two weeks ago so I guessed that was my period. The past two days I’ve had a brown discharge. This morning it’s still brown but very light brown colour. I’ve had cramping and mood changes the past few days. Does this mean my period is coming or is the brown discharge just my period?
