It's finally my turn to share my birth story and I'm so excited ! Throughout my pregnancy I read tons and they helped me so much, hopefully mine can help someone too 💗

So on February 6th at 10:30 am I went in for an appointment to see how much I was dilated. I'd been stuck at a fingertip for going on two weeks. My Ob said I was 1 cm and hardly effaced. I was 39 weeks and 1 day and my precious girl was too comfortable. So he suggested stripping my membranes and said if she didn't come by Monday he'd want to send me to thin out my cervix. I said no to the membrane thing, I wanted a vaginal with medication birth but didn't want anyone messing around in there unless it was absolutely necessary. I was pretty bummed I hadn't made much progress and other than my mucus plug coming out (wasn't bloody at all like I read 😑), there were no signs of her coming. I got back home and hung with my mom and grandma. My mom and I were in deep discussion about Kylie Jenner (don't even like her but I was salty her baby came before mine 😩). My mom was talking crap to my belly telling her lets get this show on the road and I kid you not my daughter karate kicked me so hard and I felt a gush 😳. I was still confused about her kicking me when I felt another one. I didn't want to freak anyone out so I just got up and went to check it out. I sat down to pee and more fluid came gushing out after. This was about 4:30 pm. I then started freaking out when I realized what it was. I yelled for my mom and she rushed in asking a million questions. My grandmas in the living room hyperventilating 😐 . so much for not freaking anyone out right? 😂 I got a towel and sat back on the couch to see if anymore would come out and it didn't disappoint. This was the real deal ( after several false alarms in previous weeks😑) we waited about an hour to make sure. I called my doctor and was told to go in to triage. At this point I was contracting irregularly with no pain. We got there around 6 pm, got signed in, had to have 2 tests done for the fluid because 1 came back negative. Mind you I'm still gushing this stuff the whole time. The second one comes back positive and I'm shipped off to labor and delivery. By this time hubby, dad, little sister, and my bestfriend have all arrived. Everyone was allowed In my room, I was so grateful for it. Since my water had broken and my contractions were still irregular ( it had been almost 4 hours since the initial gush) they decided to start me on pitocin (aka the devils nectar 😂). I didn't want it at all after reading horror stories about it but I didn't want to get an infection or anything so I agreed to it. The doses started small and went up every 30 minutes. I tried to sleep but being hooked up to all that crap made it uncomfortable. I got maybe 2 hours. The pain was manageable and I was able to breathe through them until about 2 am. My contractions started coming on top of each other and the pain was becoming intense to the point I could no longer deal with them. Hubby was coaching my breathing and massaging my hips and back. I had done really well up until that point. No tears, no panicking, just determined to get to the end. I asked for my epidural and got it within 10 minutes. My anesthesiologist was incredible and so gentle. It didn't hurt at all, it was a breeze. After the epidural set in I felt awesome. I was checked and was at 5cm ! My goal was to get to 4cm before opting for meds. After a few minutes I noticed my right side still hurt a bit so they had me lay on that side to try to distribute the meds more to that side. i got to sleep for a few hours. It helped but not completely. When the nurse came back she put the peanut ball between my legs to help me dilate more. I loved that thing 😬 even managed to get super comfy with it. The nurse came in and had me switch sides. 10 minutes later I called her back in to tell her about the intense pain I still felt on my right. She said not to worry and that the epi could be fixed. She checked me again and said "no wonder you're in pain you're at a 10 girl ! It's baby time" I started hyperventilating, I was terrified I'd have to start pushing with the leg pain. My anesthesiologist came back in and numbed me completely ! Pretty sure I thanked him at least a million times before he left. At that point I couldn't feel any pain but felt the contractions and the urge to push. I pushed for what felt like forever. I couldn't really feel myself pushing down so I thought I was doing it wrong lol. I had a normal tear and ended up needing stitches. Y'all I was so glad I didn't feel the doctor doing that. Watching her was bad enough 😂. Maddison Victoria Scott Hatton was born at 6 am weighing 6 pounds 5 ounces and 19.5 inches long on February 7th 🦄💞. She is so sweet and perfect. Crazy enough on all of her ultrasounds she looked just like her dad but to all of our surprise came out a spitting image of her mama 🤗😻
