butt dimple?

just noticed it today but my LO has a dimple in her buttcrack right above her anus. is this normal? she doesn’t have her 1 month appointment until the 28th and i will bring it up to the pediatrician then but i was just wondering if anybody else’s babies have it and are fine or if there’s something to be worried about?

My daughter has had one since birth. Hers is at the very top of her crack and it dips in a little. As soon as she was delivered they examined it to make sure no spine was showing and hey checked again at each of her appointments. She is 8 months now and it’s still there. We were told just to make sure to keep it clean as it can trap poop easier and that it’s nothing to worry about.

My son had an actual hole there 😱 it’s completely normal, just the end of the spine and will disappear (most likely) as she gets older

My girl has it too... as long as it's not a hole and I can see the base closing, it's nothing... invade u don't u may wanna talk to ur ped... we joke and call it her third dimple...

My son has this too. I remember them checking at birth to make sure there wasn’t an actual hole there. There wasn’t! I just make sure to keep it clean when he poops

My baby girl has it! The pediatrician had us get an ultrasound to make sure all was well! And all was perfect! They said it's rarely anything! 😘

Pilonidal dimple. Most of the time normal - rarely associated with spina bifida or tethered cord. I’m sure the pediatrician that examined after delivery would’ve let you know if they suspected anything unusual.
Can trap poop though - keep it clean.
