Last night I was woken up with really bad back pain, but I figured it was just due to my odd sleeping positions! It kept up from 2:30am to around 10am when I noticed I was losing globs of what I assumed could be my mucus plug. Still hurting I decided to take a shower and get ready, I had an appointment for an NST **due to gestational diabetes** at 1:30. Went in, they hooked me up, baby looked great, the doctor asked if I knew I had been having contractions during the test, I explained to her all I felt was back pain, no belly pain or tightening. She decided to check me and I was 2 almost 3 cm dilated! Really shocked me! She sent me to L&D; to get my first of two steroid shots, I go again tomorrow for a check, NST and second shot. Soooo, am I probably in labor? I’m still definitely having the pain, and feel odd pressure down there... or is this something that I could go through for the next 5+ weeks?? She didn’t say anything about stopping or seem overly worried...
