Pain with menstrual cup

Okay ladies, I bought a menstrual cup about 4 cycles ago, the first day I used it, it was magical : ) second day, so horrible it left me in tears. It leaked, it was painful, When it came to removing, it felt like it was pulling my ovaries out with it!

After I’ve got the hang of inserting it ( at least I think I do ) it doesn’t leak at all but it gives me HORRID cramps!!

I don’t even know if I should call them cramps. The pain comes in waves, extremely sharp pain along with a dull back ache. As soon as I take the cup out the pain reduces but it takes awhile to completely go away. Someone please tell why this is happening and how to fix it😭

I would describe the pain as severe. The reason I’m able to take the pain, is because it does come in waves. I kinda imagine this is what contractions from child birth feels like.
